Every summer, a dozen or so students from one of our Sister Cities are chosen to visit Burbank and stay with local families, and students from Burbank are selected to spend two weeks visiting one of our Sister Cities. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn about a different culture first hand, and to represent our city and our country to people who are always eager to learn about Americans!
This summer we will have students and chaperones from our Sister City of Ota, Japan visiting Burbank in Summer 2015. Burbank families are needed to host our guests while they are here. Please consider taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity and host a student in your home this Summer for one or both weeks. To learn more about hosting, attend a Sister City Committee meeting held the first Monday of every month at 6:30 PM in the auditorium at the Burbank Central Library. We would love to have you join us!
Applications to be a hosting family can be downloaded here, or can be found at any of the Burbank Public Library branch locations. For more information on meeting times, etc., call the Library at 818 238-5551.
